What's your best advice to getting back to your natural hair color...?

I'm currently trying to get back to my natural haircolor with about 4 inches already grown out. My hair contains years and years of dye (but no bleach). I'm torn between having a corrective color done, having my hair stripped, or simply letting is grow out and cutting the old color off gradually. I have long hair so I want to keep it healthy without sacrificing length. The current color is only a few shades away from the natural color, but there is a somewhat noticeable difference. Any suggestions or alternatives?

If your hair grows fast just let it grow.. if it takes a while to grow I'd probably dye it as close to natural as you can get and then let it grow.. of course its your call and it would really depend on how you feel about it if you're not bothered by it being two toned, leave it.

I would go to a good colorist. My first thought is that having a corrective color done would be your best bet. A good colorist can do wonders though, maybe just with blending highlights.

i sugges u find the same color as yur hair color, if u take a picture of just yur natural hair color i could help u find a color matching. once u have the color dye yur hair with it and then when yur hair grows out it will be the same color so u dont have to dye it anymore.

Grow it out. Then if u ever dye it again like just do highlights or something not to different if u are sure u will want to go back to natural again. u will go through and awkward stage 4 a little before it looks the same again. but it won't be bad. I prob wouldn't even notice

Either color your hair using semi or demi permanent colors that fade but won't leave that nasty line between the colors, until your hair grows out, or have fine sparse highlights/lowlights put in that are between your natural color and the color that is growing out. That way it all blends together, and highlights grow out nicely when fine and sparse :)

there was a time where i had really damaged hair mine actually had been dyed then bleached then dyed 3 more times.. my hair was gross. the only solution was to grow it out. luckily my hair was short so i could cut out most of it. but it look a while to grow out but it is the best choice because the hair that grows in is so healthy. i suggest using hair cholesterol to help the hair stay as healthy as it can be because healthy hair will grow. damaged hair does not

have your hair colored to match your natural color and then it will grow without the signs of regrowth. If you use a demi permanent color it will not damage your hair

Stripping is EXTREMELY harsh on your hair, even when done by a professional. My best advice would be to either have corrective colour done, or to just let it grow. (I know this is a little esoteric, but if you get your hair trimmed right before the apex of the full moon, it WILL grow faster [and fuller/thicker], so that might help too.) If you've already got 4 inches grown out, taking the time to let it fully grow out might be the best bet.
