Olive oil hair treatment?

i've heard about an olive oil treatment for your hair that helps it go from fried to healthy.

i was wondering; do you put it on dry or wet hair?

how long does it have to stay in?

and overall; does it really work?

thank you!!

Olive oil hair treatment?

Does it work? Yes! Well, at least on my almost waist-length, bleached blonde "mature" hair. I do a treatment about once a month.

Olive oil nourishes, conditions, and improves the strength and elasticity of your hair, while the couldn't-be-easier process is both stress-reducing and health-promoting. The better condition your hair becomes, the less the treatments will be absorbed, so when you get to the point where you feel it is too hard to get out of your hair, this means your hair has improved incredibly.

Here's how.

SIMPLE SOLUTION:

INGREDIENTS (enough for 1 or 2 treatments, depending on the length and thickness of your hair)

闄?cup EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil

Optional - 5 drops frankincense, myrrh, tea tree or lavender essential oil (others may be substituted, if you wish). You can also use a little pure vanilla or pure lemon extract

1 plastic bag that can fit over your hair

1. Pour olive oil into a jar with a lid, then add essential oil. Put lid on jar and shake well to disperse the essential oil. Let sit for 24 hours in a cool, dark place. If you are not using an essential oil, let sit for 1 hour in a cools, dark place. Shake well before use.

2. Rinse hair with warm water. Warm 1 tablespoon of oil treatment in the palms of your hands. Using your fingertips (not nails), gently massage the oil into the scalp in a circular motion. Repeat until the entire scalp has been massaged. Rub the ends of your hair with the remaining oil.

3. Place a plastic bag over your hair, secure by tying or with a hair clip or clothespin, and allow the oil to remain for at least a half-hour.

4. Rinse well, then shampoo as usual.

Here's another neat thing to do with olive oil -- about 1/2 cup granulated sugar, add about 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil, an essential oil if desire, mix well, and use this as a facial and/or body scrub after cleansing. Rinse well, and pat dry. You will be astonished how soft your skin feels afterwards, and if you still choose to use a moisturizer or body lotion, these products will absorb and moisturize so much better.

i haven't heard that one.

It can help the appearance but is a pain to wash out.

Get a good deep conditioner and leave a little in before stying.

I use an oil treatment once a week - it's from Philosophy. I put it in dry and leave it in all night - I just sleep on a pillow covered with a towel so it's not really an inconvenience to do.

I think it has helped a bit - I started about 8 weeks ago and will most definitely continue.

My mom does that, I've never but it seems to be working for her so go for it if that's what you wanna do.
